Pike Fishing On Lake Windermere Update

29 March 2011 // On Water

One of my favourite fishing trips ever was with my friend Rich on Lake Windermere. If you’ve had the misfortune of meeting me and admitted to even the slightest interest in fishing, then I’m bound to have bored you with it. If not, and on the off chance you’re interested, you can read about it here. I’ve not had chance to repeat the trip, far too disorganised despite longing to do so. I received the following email last week. I think I missed the boat –

Andrew

Just back from my best fishing trip on Windermere. Fish caught went 13lb x3 14×2 15×3 a 17.8lb and an 18lb then 22.4lb then to top that off biggest fish from windy 27.4lb equalling my biggest fish from anywhere. Happy days mate.

Rich

I wish I was there. No excuses, my loss..

The picture above is of the biggest fish. It was caught on a fly. My knowledge is limited, but there are more pictures and details of the flies on Rich’s new site – http://www.ukpikeflies.co.uk Blatant plug I know, but he’s a mate and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough. (AW)
