Caught by the River

Public Lettering In London

12th August 2008

The first chapter in Iain Sinclair‘s “Lights Out For The Territory” documents a walking tour round the East End of London taking note of all the signage on the route. It’s an inspirational and revolutionary way of mapping a city you thought you knew everything about. Last week our good friend Mathew Clayton forwarded us a brilliant website where someone has taken the idea and run with it, photographing signage and public typography on a walk round the West End. It’s ace. Click here to find out more… you’ll never rush past buildings with your head hung low ever again. (RT)
