We’ve talked at length about the artist Richard Long on the site a few years back. The start of next month sees the Tate open the doors on a long overdue retrospective (June 3rd at Tate Britain). If you are a gallery member, you should have received this month’s Tate Etc magazine which features brilliant pieces on Long by “The Wild Places” author Robert Macfarlane and New York based artist Carl Andre, each of whom set the tone perfectly for what promises to be a pretty jawdropping exhibition in the heart of London town. To quote Andre: “I envy his gift of being able to walk into a patch of woods and emerge with the makings of a great installation from an arm full of twigs.” Click here for more details on the exhibition, maybe see you down there.

The latest issue of the online magazine Five Dials is out to download for free as of this morning – they’re running the Lux Interior obituary written for us by Bobby Gillespie in this edition. Fantastic and strangely reassuring to see Jello Biafra and Alain De Botton together (at last!) in the same magazine. Absolutely essential bank holiday weekend reading.

Also, it would only seem fair – correct in fact – to wish Morrissey a happy 50th birthday. Possibly though this chap will do it with a little more pizzazz than we could.
