This weekend you’ve got two chances to see our pal Kieran Evans’ brilliant film ‘From Here To Before’ about alt.folk idol Vashti Bunyan. First up, if you find yourself up and about on Saturday morning (18th) at the Latitude Festival, stroll on over to the Film & Music Arena where the film will be screening at 11.00am.
Straight after the film, there’s a musical treat from Adem who has assembled a number of musical cohorts to perform a set of music inspired by the journey Vashti undertook on a horse and cart from London to the Outer Hebrides all those years ago. It sounds like a pretty good way to while away the hours before lunchtime.
On the same day but in sunny London, the film is also being screened as part of legendary producer Joe Boyd’s ‘Witchseason Weekender at The Barbican. The screening starts at 4.30 in Cinema 3 and is then followed by an All Star Fairport Convention Concert later in the evening that features some of the musicians who contributed to her classic debut album ‘Just Another Diamond Day’.
A good day to be a Vashti fan!
