Thames 21 – Flashmob the Foreshore

The Cleaner Thames Challenge is back for the fourth year running. This year, it’s going to be different. Very different! Bring your family, bring your friends and bring your colleagues to one of our four different clean-up locations below.

DAY ONE: FULHAM, BISHOP’S PARK.
DATE: Thursday 20 August
TIME: 9.15am – 11.45am
MEET: at the east entrance to Fulham Palace Gardens (near to Putney Bridge) off Putney Bridge Approach, SW6. The clean-up will take place on the foreshore in front of Bishop’s Park. MAP LINK
ACCESS: Access to the foreshore is by steps. Please contact us in advance if you have any special access requirements.
TRAVEL: Nearest tube is Putney Bridge (District) and only a short walk from the meeting point.

DAY TWO: FULHAM, HURLINGHAM PARK.
DATE: Friday 21 August
TIME: 9.45am – 12.15pm
MEET: at the end of Broomhouse Lane, at the south east corner of Hurlingham Park, SW6. The clean-up will take place on the foreshore from Hurlingham Wharf to Wandsworth Bridge. MAP LINK
ACCESS: Access to the foreshore is by slipway. Please contact us in advance if you have any special access requirements.
TRAVEL: Nearest tube is Putney Bridge (District) and is a ten minute walk from the meeting point.

DAY THREE: WOOLWICH
DATE: Saturday 22 August
TIME: 8.30am – 11.00am
MEET: at the end of Venus Road, SE18. The clean-up will take place on the foreshore by New Ferry Approach. MAP LINK
ACCESS: Access to the foreshore is by steps. Please contact us in advance if you have any special access requirements.
TRAVEL: The nearest train station is Woolwich Dockyard and is a short walk from the meeting point.

DAY FOUR: ISLE OF DOGS
DATE: Sunday 23 August
TIME: 9.30am – 12 noon
MEET: at Newcastle Draw Dock, off Saunders Ness Road, E14. The clean-up will take place on the foreshore to the east of this point, across the river from the o2. MAP LINK
ACCESS: Access to the foreshore is by slipway. Please contact us in advance if you have any special access requirements.
TRAVEL: The nearest tube is Island Gardens (DLR) and is a ten minute walk from the meeting point.

Events are suitable for all the family. All equipment, including wellies and gloves, will be provided to volunteers. Please wear old clothes you don’t mind getting muddy and appropriate to the weather. Volunteers will be helping remove litter items that collect on the foreshore in the four locations. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs.
