We’ve had the pleasure of hearing this already and it’s a total delight. The producer described it to us as being, ‘a bit Last of the Summer Wine’. It is. Just look at ’em. Three highly likeable and very funny people on a mission. Highly recommended.

press release;

In Search Of The Holy Quail follows three like-minded, erudite men of the music world on a journey to Shetland, home of the Quail – well, sometimes.

Our intrepid heroes – namely Guy Garvey (of Elbow and 6Music presenter), Martin Noble (British Sea Power) and Marc Riley (ex-Fall member and 6Music presenter) – fearlessly explore the rugged Shetland terrain in search of all manner of ornithological wonderment.

We follow our three rock star twitchers on a journey from the city smoke all the way to Sumburgh Head on the southern tip of Shetland Mainland, to a traditional Shetland music session in a Lerwick pub and to Mousa Broch, one of the world’s largest Storm Petrel breeding colonies.

Guillemots, Arctic Skuas and Puffins are abundant, but what about the elusive Quail? As there are no more than four seen in the Shetlands during a typical season the chances of seeing one are slim.
