The Sand Band at The Social. Pic by Tomo.
Our first ‘live’ event of the year turned out to be a real good one, with Wednesday’s ‘Caught by the River presents’ night at The Social drawing in a top bunch of people. Thanks to everyone who came down and a special thank you to the artists, all of whom delivered big time:
To Jeanette Leech for teaching us a thing or two about acid folk. Learn more from her book ‘Season’s They Change’ which is available from the publisher Jawbone Books.
To Jack Joseph and his band, for stepping in at the last minute to replace the flu’d up Carwyn Colorama. Listen to Jack on his myspace and come see him at a Caught by the River event in the not too distant future. Same goes for Colorama. We’ll get them rescheduled as soon as we can.
To Pete Fowler, creator of ‘Piscator & Fitch’ and purveyor of psychedelic curiosities.
To Tomo for the door duties and the snaps.
And to The Sand Band for being the most understated and hypnotic beat group around. If you’ve not got their album yet we recommend you treat yourself to a copy from our shop. It’s a beauty.
Eyes peeled for forthcoming events, better still sign up to the mailing list and hear about ’em first.
