Friend Of The River Jeremy Deller sat in for Jarvis Cocker on the BBC6 Music Sunday Service slot yesterday. The show is one of the very finest things on the radio full stop – Jeremy doesn’t let the quality dip, taking in everything from searing live Roxy tracks to a chat with avian art genius Marcus Coates (a previous guest of ours at Port Eliot festival) to some wigged out rockery from the mighty Hawkwind and World of Twist (sadly not together – that would be too good) to an utterly crazed, totally mindblowing Otis Redding live recording.

Must warn you though – it also features Frank Sidebottom’s staggeringly brilliant tribute to Queen, something that shouldn’t be listened to while operating heavy machinery.
