Sandy Armishaw from River Reads bookshop in Torrington, Devon has written to tell us about a new book and event she has planned for later this year:
River Reads Press has been established to produce special edition books and River Monsters, by Jeremy Wade, will be the first to be published under this name.
A deluxe leather-bound special edition of Jeremy’s book is being produced by RRP limited to just 25 volumes, most of which have already been reserved.
In line with the launch of his book, Jeremy will be visiting the River Reads shop in Torrington, Devon for a book-signing session, and I’ve organised a screening of an episode from the first series of River Monsters at the Plough Arts Centre, Torrington at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday 3rd December, 2011. The film will be followed by a Q & A session with Jeremy. The book-signing is a fund-raiser for Wateraid/Angling Heritage (UK) and the film show is to raise funds for Angling Heritage (UK) which needs £5000 for an improved website. One of the improvements to be made to the site is the addition of a ‘pay to listen’ facility which will enable people to have access to the growing recorded and photographic archive and generate funds for future recordings in the Recollections’ series.
Tickets for the film and Q & A are on sale from the Plough Arts Centre box office: (01805) 624624. Price: £12/£10 supporters/concessions.
