Cerys Matthews post-Catatonia career is a marvellous thing. Solo records that mix the Welsh language with country music, a radio show that effortlessly traverses the entire globe (music wise) without seeming like it’s box ticking and – best of all – a love of angling in all its forms. On Wednesday 12th at 11am, Radio 4 broadcasts Hook, Line and Singer, a documentary about Cerys’ fishing addiction. On fishing on the Usk, she says “I like the stillness. The sinking into the tiniest piece of universe.” Sounds perfect to us.
