A very lovely letter received on behalf of Travis Elborough for his article East End meets East Coast: Scarborough, twinned with Hackney (2 August, 2012)

Dear Caught by the River,

I just wanted to write and thank you for the great piece you wrote about Scarborough. I was born and bred there but I moved away some years ago and am now living in Maine in the USA. Scarborough is perfectly imperfect and you captured that so well. My top ten would have been almost identical to yours.

I’ve not had such pangs of homesickness in a long time.
