Caught by the River

An Evening of Songs & Stories with Jeb Loy Nichols

23rd September 2012

Regular Caught by the River contributor Jeb Loy Nichols might have swapped the Midwest for mid Wales ten years back but he still writes perfect songs for wide open skies and big broken hearts. Over the past thirty years, Jeb has been the curator of the legendary Country Got Soul compilations, a frequent On-U Sound collaborator and ex-squat mate of Neneh Cherry. His recently released and hugely acclaimed LP The Jeb Loy Nichols Special hasn’t been far from the Caught by the River stereo since its release. That record was the reason we booked him to play on Caught by the River stages at Dinefwr Literary Festival, Port Eliot Festival and Festival Number 6 this summer. And it’s why we’re hosting an autumn evening of songs and stories with him at the Heavenly Social on Monday October 8th. DJs on the night – playing soul, soul and country soul – are Geoff Travis (Rough Trade) and Ross Allen. The Social, 5 Little Portland Street, W1. Doors at 7pm. Tickets are £5 in advance from We Got Tickets or £7 on the door. We’d love to see you down there.
