On last week’s newsletter we ran a competition to give away copies of the excellent book, Northern Soul – An Illustrated History by Elaine Constantine and Gareth Sweeney.

We asked: In 1982, with help from ACE records, a soul reissue label was started in the UK. Originally focusing on the Northern sound, this label, still going strong today, has provided services to happiness, style and taste way beyond the call of duty. We want the name of the label and the REAL name of the guy behind it.

And the answer is: Kent Records / Ady Croasdell

The first five names out of the deerstalker were: Holger Meier (Berlin), Fraser Murdoch (Tunbridge Wells), Ivan Wadeson (Manchester), Charlie Read (Durham) and Edmund Slater (Ilkley). Congratulations, your books will be with you shortly. Thanks to everyone who entered.
