First up, we have three copies of Simon Goddard’s excellent Simply Thrilled to give away. (read Pete Paphides’ review for Caught by the River here)

We asked: The ‘musical cat’ images, used effectively and iconically by Postcard, were drawn by which artist?

And the answer is: Louis Wain

The lucky winners are.. Malcolm Nicholson, Matthew Paul and Pat Howe. Congratulations, your books will be with you shortly.

We also have three copies of A London Pub For Every Occasion from the ever wonderful Herb Lester Associates to give away.

We asked: What is London’s only floating pub?

Although the answer that we were looking for was the Wibbley Wobbley, it transpires that there’s more than one. Many of you answered Tamesis Dock or The Tattershall Castle which are also correct.

When we checked this with Ben Olins, the book’s author, he told us, ‘We’re grateful to the observant and thirsty readers of the Caught by the River newsletter for expanding our knowledge of London’s floating pubs. In this case, three is the magic number. Cheers!’

It only seemed fair to split the correct answers into three groups with a book going to one from each. The winners are.. Alan Knight, Jenny Sherwen and Aidan McManus. Congratulations, your books will be with you shortly.
