“The tide is something which still holds mystery for many. It’s one of nature’s wonders, making life on land possible.”

Poems inspired by the great force of the tide? Don’t mind if we do. This podcast from Australia’s ABC Radio National Poetica programme has really captured our imagination.

‘Annabel Lee’ by Edgar Allen Poe, Sonnet 75 – ‘One Day I wrote her name upon the strand’ by Edmund Spenser, there’s some real gems being read out here, all interspersed with snippets of song from the likes of Bob Marley and Leonard Cohen, amongst others. A lovely, soothing, inspiring listen.

The station produce lots of other nature-led podcasts too, have a gander.
