Caught by the River

Brita Granström and Mick Manning

3rd May 2015

Two brilliant artists now have their work showing at Edinburgh’s Open Eye Gallery, Sea Salt & Sour Dough by Brita Granström and Beasts of Scotland by Mick Manning. Brita Granström’s work presents paintings that capture intimate, everyday moments; revealing domestic interiors and seascapes inspired by her home life and the landscapes of the Scottish borders. Mick Manning works from life in both Sweden and the Scottish Borders where wildlife encounters, fishing trips and chance finds inform his work. This exhibition features a variation of animal forms printed onto assorted papers; from Second World War military forms rescued from a Lapland hunter’s cabin, to old maps, all blending the narrative and factual influences in his work.
