unspecified

In honour of their 40 years in the business, Rough Trade are due to release a limited edition journal. This celebration of the iconic music company’s existence is told through the stories of over 100 contributors from the worlds of music, literature, art and film, including Caught by the River contributors Bill Drummond, Melissa Harrison, Richard King, Andy Childs, poet-in-residence Will Burns, and our very own Jeff Barrett. Further offerings come from Brian Eno, Kate Tempest, Green Gartside, Joe Dunthorne, Lavinia Greenlaw, Viv Albertine, Craig Taylor, David Shrigley, Jon Savage, Mark Ronson, and Jake Arnott.

With jacket illustration from London-based art collective Le Gun and a foreword from Thurston Moore, the journal is accompanied by a 7″ with an exclusive track featuring John Grant, Will Burns and John (Arthur) Webb, and is limited to a hand-numbered special edition run of 2016 copies.

The Rough Trade 40th Anniversary journal will be launched at Rough Trade East on Tuesday 8 March with a very special event hosted by Thurston Moore – featuring an ‘In Conversation’ with The Raincoats and author/poet Lavinia Greenlaw, a reading from author Richard Milward, and a live performance from 1965 Records’ Black Peaches, as well as DJ sets from Jeff, James Endeacott (1965 Records), + Simon Raymonde (Bella Union).

You can preorder the journal here, or the journal/launch event wristband bundle here.
