As a beginner or someone wanting to brush up on some old skills, settle down in an east London pub for an evening of the techniques and knowledge needed to tie your own fishing flies.

Expert flytyer, passionate fisherman and dearly beloved of the site Bruno Vincent (aka Super Fly Guy) is offering both beginner and intermediate level fly-tying workshops. During the 3-hour sessions, taking place at the Three Kings pub on Clerkenwell Close, you’ll learn to tie Buzzers, Gold Heads, Quill body dries, Hares Ear and PTNs. Using materials such as furs, feathers and tinsels, the skills involved are easily transferred to making jewellery too. There’s even a pair of pints and a scotch egg included in the class price.

The next intermediate class will take place on Monday 14 March, with a beginner class running on 4 April. More information/book here.
