Caught by the River

BE•ONE: a Guardian critic's choice

9th June 2016

1455633741373 We were chuffed to bits to see our first Rivertones LP, BE•ONE, included in The Guardian’s ‘Best albums of 2016 – so far’ roundup this week. Sitting alongside releases from the likes of David Bowie, Beyoncé and Radiohead, Tim Jonze called the record ‘One of the year’s most beguiling offerings,’ which ‘transcended its roots as an art project to become something joyous and revelatory.’ Cheers to that!

Further cause for celebration is the opening of The Hive – the structure to which BE•ONE originally formed the soundtrack – at Kew Gardens. The multi-award-winning installation features thousands of lights and a soundscape linked by sensors to a living beehive. Conceived as the centrepiece of the UK Pavilion at the 2015 Milan Expo, The Hive is the first ever British Pavilion to be reused and brought back home, and will be unveiled within the stunning landscape of Kew on 18 June 2016. More information available here.

Keep an eye out for BE•ONE live performances at Glastonbury Festival, Bluedot Festival, Caught by the River Thames and End of the Road this summer.

BE•ONE is available to purchase digitally and on CD/vinyl in the Caught by the River shop.
