Ronald Blythe’s Akenfield and J.L. Carr’s A Month in the Country stand as two of the most evocative portraits of English rural life in 20th century literature. Both books were adapted into films which, after years of relative obscurity, have just been re-released by the BFI in newly remastered DVD and Blu-ray editions.
On tomorrow’s newsletter, we’re offering the chance to win one of two prize bundles – comprising a dual-format (DVD/Blu-ray) copy of both films, plus copies of the books on which they were based, courtesy of the BFI & Penguin Modern Classics.
For the opportunity to win, make sure you’re subscribed to our mailing list before 11am. The sign-up bar can be found on the top right-hand side of the site.
