We’d like to say a quick thank you to everyone who read at – and attended – our afternoon of poetry and prose, which took place at Machpelah Mill of Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, this weekend just passed.

Hebden has always held a certain magic for us, which made the fact of our event selling out all the more significant. We delighted in the words of Will Burns, Martha Sprackland, Zaffar Kunial, Sophie McKeand, Adam O’Riordan, Adelle Stripe and Anna Wood. Thanks too to Richard Carter for perking up the walls of the mill with prints from his Hebden’s Other Bridges photo-project. Our only gripe was the aural intrusion of the laughter yoga class going on upstairs – met overwhelmingly with mutters of ‘you couldn’t make this up’.

We hope to return to the Calder Valley in the near future. In the meantime, you may be interested in our next London event, which takes place at The Horse Hospital, Bloomsbury, on Monday 27 February. More information and tickets available here.
