Caught by the River

Competition Results

4th May 2017

Here are the results of our latest newsletter competition:

Last week, we had five copies of Jenny Landreth’s Swell: A Waterbiography, published today by Bloomsbury, to give away.

We asked: What is the name of the English teenager who, in 1875, accomplished a long-distance swim in the River Thames from London Bridge to Greenwich (a distance of about 6 miles) ?

And the answer is: Agnes Beckwith. The winners are Tracy Litterick, Lisa Topping, Steve Peet, James Swyer, and Claire Best. Your prizes will be with you very soon.

Thanks, as usual, for all the competition entries. To be in with a chance of winning our next prize — a copy of the Faber-published Natural Selection: A Year in the Garden, by award-winning landscape and garden designer, plantsman and journalist Dan Pearson — make sure you’re signed up to our mailing list before 11am tomorrow. The sign-up bar can be found in the top right-hand corner of this page.
