Caught by the River

Competition Results

24th August 2017

Here are the results of our last couple of newsletter competitions:

First up, we had three copies of Lizzy Goodman’s Meet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City 2001-2011, recently released by Faber, to give away.

We asked: Manhattan Island has three rivers: one to the east, one to the west and another which divides Manhattan from The Bronx. What are their names?

And the answer is: the East River, the Hudson River, and the Harlem River. The winners are Jane Nissen, Jim Handford, and Sara Sherwood. Your prizes will be with you very soon.

Next up, we had three copies of Joe Minihane’s Floating: A Life Regained, published by Duckworth, to give away.

We asked: Floating is inspired by one of the patron saints of Caught by the River, Roger Deakin. Roger lived in an Elizabethan farmhouse. Can you name it?

And the answer is: Walnut Tree Farm. The winners are Barbara Armour, Juliet Freeman, and Mike Harkness. Your books are on their way!

Thanks, as usual, for all the competition entries. To be in with a chance of winning our next prize – a pair of tickets to Sambrook’s Brewery’s Beer On The Common – make sure you’re signed up to our mailing list. The sign-up bar can be found in the top right-hand corner of this page.
