Caught by the River

Some mighty good things have been going on over on Radio 4 in the last week.

Firstly, Alice Oswald, beloved of this site, was announced as Radio 4’s poet-in-residence — and on the Autumn Equinox, no less. What a good bloody move. You can hear her reading specially commissioned poem ‘Almost as Transparent’ here.

Secondly, CBTR friend and contributor Melissa Harrison has been filling the airwaves with calls and tales of some of her favourite birds on Tweet of the Day. Early risers can catch her every day at 05:58 ’til Friday; sleepier souls can listen back on iPlayer Radio, where the first two episodes, on the tawny owl and the starling, are already available.

Happy listening.
