A little bit of loveliness courtesy of Erland Cooper – who plays both our Port Eliot and Good Life Experience stages this summer. A gentle experiment of countermelody, this arrangement of Solan Goose for 8 pianos, 1 violin, a glockenspiel and a tape loop is supposed to symbolise fledgling sea birds, taking flight down the cliffs for the first time. As the birds finally become airborne, they stay aloft for a bit over the water, then come down to land in a sheltered bay or perhaps a ‘gloup’.
