Caught by the River

SPRING: a poem by Hollie McNish

24th July 2018

The dandelions are having sex again
seeds riding air
as if there’s no-ne else around

flowers flaunting pods of pollen
butterflies and bees aroused

the birds are calling out to mate
the males flashings calls and colours

bulbs are showing face
after fornicating undercover

slugs dangling upside down
wrapped around each other

everything is at it
flora fauna sin of Spring

thank goodness we humans
do not do that sort of thing
