Running at Falmouth Art Gallery until 5th October, Ammeth: Farming in Cornwall uses art to explore stories and issues from one of Cornwall’s most important industries.
The gallery summarises: ‘Over 70% of land in the county is farmed and the relationship between farming and the landscape has been a continuing source of inspiration for local artists. This exhibition examines how farming is depicted in historic and contemporary art, reflecting on environmental concerns and celebrating Cornwall’s rich farming tradition and the positive impact of regenerative farming methods and sustainable food production.’
The exhibition features loans from Penlee House Gallery & Museum, a new commission in celebration of soil by Georgia Gendall, and a contribution from William Arnold [‘Cauliflower Fields (Forever)’, as above].
Presented in collaboration with Kestle Barton, The Museum of Cornish Life and Penlee House Museum & Art Gallery. Entry is free; find more visiting information here. Read more about ‘Cauliflower Fields (Forever)’ here.
