As ‘Wild Folk’, her book collaboration with Tamsin Abbott, is published by Chelsea Green, Jackie Morris introduces a silvery video extract.

Wild Folk was moor-born. The stories came from the trees, rivers and stones. The book’s life so far has been unusual. Returning to the light after a winter of hibernation (Wild Folk was being published last year but then the original publishers went into administration, leaving this beautiful book temporarily without a home), our hope is that the book finds new readers, those who love the land, seeking shelter from the storms in the pages. The Silver Trout’s Tale was told by the river, by the ghost of a poet, by stones and birds, woven words making streams and rivulets with type on paper, a flow. This film is an offering, a moment of peace. Please send it out to anyone who you feel would find rest in its waters, anyone who has loved, is loved, desires.
