Chris Watson – Cross Pollination: A Night of Experimental Insect Music. Sunday 6 September 2009, 7.30pm

Pestival 2009 is a festival celebrating insects in art, and the art of being an insect, is coming to Southbank Centre this September. Taking place over the weekend of 4th-6th of September, it features a variety of workshops, talks and performances, including a concert by Chris Watson, entitled ‘Cross Pollination: A Night of Experimental Insect Music’.

Internationally acclaimed sound recordist for BBC’s Life in the
Undergrowth and original member of Cabaret Voltaire, Chris Watson, curates an evening of experimental insect music.

One of the most highly regarded wildlife recording artists specialising in
animals, habitats and atmospheres, Chris Watson is also a BAFTA award-winning force behind David Attenborough’s The Life of Birds, The Blue Planet and The Life of Mammals. His album Weather Report is named in The Guardian’s 1000 Albums to Hear Before You Die list.

It’s at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre. Tickets are £20.
