Caught by the River

The Hedgerow Society

Mathew Clayton | 8th March 2011

From Mathew Clayton:
The 2nd meeting of the Hedgerow Society takes place Friday March 25th at the Basement, Kensington St, Brighton. A night of culture inspired by nature the headline act is the husband and wife songwriting duo Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou. Recently returned from a sold out tour of tin tabernacles they will be showcasing material from their forthcoming album released on Heavenly Recordings in June.

Support comes from Jack Northover, a young guitar picker from East Anglia. In his music you can hear the floor creak, the owl shriek, and the back door slam. Just our thing. On the decks we have Caught by the River’s Jeff Barrett and our very own Professor Hard Times.

In the Pit cinema we will be showing The Lost World of Mr Hardy a bucolic feature length documentary about fishing. We also lucky to have Andrew Philips from Ninja Tunes act Grasscut introducing some of their own short films and An Old Man in the Sea, a short film about the traditions and history of sea swimming in Brighton. Last but least our very own Mathew Clayton will be explaining how his father, beekeeper and amateur dramatician, unexpectedly made psychedelic music history. Sort of.

Harvey’s ales will be served between 8pm and midnight. Tickets £5 in advance from www.wegottickets.com. I hope you can join us.
