Caught by the River

This Week's Newsletter

Following our fallow week, the Caught by the River newsletter will be back and better than ever this Friday.

This week’s mailout will include a download of Spoken Word & Nature Disco Vol. 5 – the latest in our series of irregular mixtapes. Jeff’s selection of tracks (including offerings from Kate Carr, Marisa Anderson and Julia Holter) has been mixed by the mighty Dubwood Allstars.

Woven throughout is the voice of angler / author and longtime Caught by the River contributor Dexter Petley, whose memoir Love Madness Fishing was published by Little Toller earlier this year. Dexter will appear in conversation with John Andrews on our Port Eliot stage, as well as on the Waterfront Stage at Caught by the River Thames. The download link will be live for 4 days, after which the mix will be consigned to streaming only over on our Mixcloud page.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we’re also offering up the chance to win a copy of M. Craft‘s Blood Moon, newly released on Heavenly Recordings, on your choice of CD or vinyl. Drawing comparisons to Nick Drake, Mercury Rev, Sufjan Stevens and Simon & Garfunkel, the record is the culmination of Craft’s time spent living in a cabin on the edge of the Mojave desert. Listen to the album’s title track here.
